the story

growing up, i felt lonely a lot of the time — not because i didn't have people, i had a mum, i had friends. but there were things about puberty i just didn't know, and no easy, embarrassment-free way to find out. we didn't have google. so i mostly stayed quiet and confused, and hoped i'd figure it out eventually.

now i have a daughter of my own, and the world she's growing up in is different — she doesn't stay quiet and confused, she searches. and that's the part that worries me. when she's curious, embarrassed, or unsure about her body, the internet will answer her — but it won't know how old she is, and it won't care if what it shows her is right for her or years ahead of where she's actually at.

i built rumi to be the place she goes instead. somewhere safe for that exact vulnerable moment — searching for answers when she doesn't want to ask a person yet. answers pitched at her actual age, not above it. nothing she shouldn't be seeing.

our philosophy

rumi is built by real humans, and real mums. we believe technology should protect kids, not just reach them — so we pair careful human judgement with ai, using each for what it's good at: ai for fast, judgement-free, always-available answers; humans for deciding what's actually safe and age-right to say.

the world our kids grow up in keeps changing, so rumi keeps evolving with it. what stays constant is the priority: her safety comes first, always.
